Apple doesn’t publish battery capacities in mAh, but a European regulatory document does for the company. A Product Information Sheet hosted by Currys for Apple model A3720 lists a rated battery capacity of 4,883 mAh. The sheet doesn’t name the phone. According to the MacRumors Forums thread and related reports, A3720 is the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable.

The figure isn’t a surprise. Gadget Hacks reports that 4,883 mAh surfaced before launch in regulatory filings, reportedly split across two cells of 1,921 mAh and 2,962 mAh. The same outlet says other pre-launch estimates ranged from roughly 4,800 to 5,400 mAh. The EU sheet is the first place the number appears in a standard consumer-facing document.

How it compares with the iPhone 18 Pro and Galaxy Z Fold8

So 4,883 mAh puts the Duo between this year’s two Pro models. The same EU sheets list the iPhone 18 Pro at 4,056 mAh and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at 5,391 mAh. Those are the SIM-tray versions (A3714 and A3717). Samsung’s figures need one adjustment. It advertises the Galaxy Z Fold8 at 4,800 mAh and the Fold8 Ultra at 5,000 mAh, but those are “typical” values. Its footnotes put the rated capacities, the measure Apple’s sheets use, at 4,660 mAh and 4,854 mAh.

On rated capacity, the Duo comes out slightly ahead of both Samsung foldables. Capacity alone won’t tell you which lasts longer, though. The EU endurance figures are 51 hours 30 minutes for the Duo, 52 hours for the 18 Pro and 62 hours for the 18 Pro Max.

What else the EU sheet lists

The sheet follows the EU’s smartphone labelling rules, so it covers durability and repairability as well as the battery. Here are the values as printed:

ItemValue
Rated battery capacity4,883 mAh
Battery endurance per cycle51 hours 30 minutes
Endurance in cyclesAt least 1,000
Energy efficiency classA
Battery user-replaceableNo
Drop testClass B: at least 140 falls, 35 in fully extended state
Ingress protectionIP68, to 6 m
Scratch resistance5 on the Mohs scale
ChargerUSB-C, 5 W required output
OS updates5 years
RepairabilityClass C (index 2.65/5)
Minimum guarantee12 months

The 51 hours 30 minutes is an EU-rated endurance figure, so it sits apart from the numbers Apple uses in its own marketing. According to Gadget Hacks, Apple quotes up to 24 hours of typical use, plus up to 44 hours of video on the outer display and 31 hours on the inner one. The sheet also says the battery isn’t user-replaceable under the EU’s tool-free replacement criteria. It points buyers to Apple’s Self Service Repair programme for battery replacements.

UAE availability

The sheet is an EU document, and the model identifier may differ by region. GSMArena lists A3720 as the international version and A3719 for the Middle East, Canada and Mexico. Capacity may be the same across variants, but the sheet covers only A3720.

For UAE buyers, Apple UAE lists the iPhone Duo from AED 8,499 for the 256GB model, rising to AED 13,599 for 2TB. Pre-orders opened at 4pm on 16 October, with availability from 23 October. The US price starts at USD 1,999.

Is 4,883 mAh Apple’s official iPhone Duo battery capacity?

Not as an Apple announcement. Apple doesn’t publish mAh figures, and the sheet doesn’t name the iPhone Duo. The figure comes from the EU Product Information Sheet for model A3720, which forum and press reports link to the foldable.

Can you replace the iPhone Duo’s battery yourself?

The EU sheet lists the battery as not user-replaceable. It points to Apple’s Self Service Repair site for replacement information and rates repairability at class C, or 2.65 out of 5.

Will the UAE model carry the same identifier?

Possibly not. GSMArena lists A3719 for the Middle East and A3720 for international units. The sheet covers only A3720, so check the model number on your unit’s box or in Settings after purchase.
